TriDurLE 2024 Annual Symposium

On behalf of the National Center for Transportation Infrastructure Durability & Life – Extension (TriDurLE), we are pleased to announce that the 2024 Annual Symposium will be held from February 25th (Sunday) to February 27th (Tuesday), 2024 at Texas A&M Hotel & Conference Center, College Station, TX. The theme of the symposium is “Advancements in Transportation Infrastructure: Durability, Sustainability, and Resilience”.

The main objective of the symposium is to provide a forum for professionals to discuss durability challenges associated with design, construction, and maintenance of multi-mode transportation systems and a showcase of recent development, practices, and advances to enhance transportation sustainability, resilience, and durability. Participants can present either existing research or ideas associated with the symposium theme. 

PDH certificate will be provided for professional development purposes


Call for Presentations
We are now accepting abstracts for presentations at the symposium on transportation infrastructure-related topics with a focus on Advancements in Transportation Infrastructure: Durability, Sustainability, and Resilience. Abstracts selected for presentation will be invited to submit a full paper for consideration to be published in a special issue in the Journal of Infrastructure Preservation and Resilience. If you are interested in making a presentation at the annual symposium, please submit your one-page abstract via the link on the right.

Notification of Abstract Acceptence Date: January 22nd, 2024
Registration Deadline for Accepted Abstracts: Febuary 7th, 2024
Poster Session & Student Competition
There will be a Poster Competition and a separate Student Driven Solutions Competition in this symposium to prompt the engagement of students and young professionals in the activities of TriDurLE.
The Poster Competition is open to full-time students and young professionals. Each student or young professional may submit only one abstract as the lead author. The posters should include the TriDurLE logo and may include your university’s and funding agency’s logos. The posters should be prepared by students/young professionals based on their own research work. Advisor(s) and co-worker(s) of students/young professionals may be included as co-authors; however, students/young professionals must be the lead authors and the posters must be presented by the competing students/young professionals at the workshop. Creativity and originality in presenting the technical contents of the posters are encouraged. Any topic related to this year’s theme – “Advancements in Transportation Infrastructure: Durability, Sustainability, and Resilience” is welcome to present. Based on the reviews of the presentations, an “TriDurLE Best Poster Award” will be given to the winner(s) team. If you are interested in participating the poster competition at the annual symposium, please submit your one-page abstract via the link on the right.

The Student Driven Solutions Competition has the following topics for student teams to choose from:

  1. Use of Low Carbon Concrete
  2. Incidence of Roots in a Soil Fill Material
  3. Nondestructive Assessment of Voids in an Aggregate System
  4. Reduction of Heat Absorption of a Pavement Surface
  5. Maintenance of Unpaved Roadway Surfaces
  6. Slippage of Asphalt Concrete Between Layers
